Race Notes
- All drivers finished the race. This is the 12th time this happened in F1.
- Because of the rain conditions, there were no mandatory pit stops. Ocon finished on the Intermediate tyres he started on. The last time a driver finished without a tyre change was in 1997. Hamilton wanted to finish on his start tyres too but his team told him to pit 8 laps before the finish where he lost two positions. Hamilton wasn't happy about that call but his team argued that he would have lost positions anyways with his pace on the old tyres.
- Vettel switched to slicks in 10th place. This did not work out, he only slid around and had to pit again for Intermediates directly after. He lost many positions with that call.

Tyre selection
Out of five possible tyre compounds Pirelli selects a set of three for each race weekend. C1 is the hardest available tyre and C5 is the softest one. Intermediate and wet tyres are the same each weekend. The hardest tyre in a reace is always coloured white, the middle one yellow and the softest one red.
