Life

Life Racing Engines, often simply known as Life, was an Italian Formula 1 constructor notable for its brief and entirely unsuccessful 1990 season. Their distinctive W12 engine, designed by Franco Rocchi, was a technical curiosity but proved heavy and underpowered. Driven solely by Gary Brabham and later Bruno Giacomelli, the Life L190 failed to pre-qualify for all 14 races it entered, often by a considerable margin. This unique engine concept and their absolute lack of performance cemented Life's place as one of Formula 1's most memorable, albeit futile, privateer efforts.
