LEC, a short-lived British Formula 1 constructor, made its sole appearance in the 1973 season. Founded by Mike Earle, the team fielded a single car for driver David Purley, a prominent figure in F5000. While their Formula 1 tenure was brief, LEC remains notable for Purley's courageous, albeit ultimately unsuccessful, attempt to rescue Roger Williamson from his burning car at the 1973 Dutch Grand Prix.
