The British Shannon team, founded by Irishman Joe Kelly, made a solitary Formula 1 appearance at the 1966 British Grand Prix. Their car, the Shannon SH-1, was an ambitious but ultimately unsuccessful design, featuring a unique monocoque chassis and powered by a Coventry Climax engine.
