Stuart Lewis-Evans
Ivor Bueb and Cliff Allison aside, Stuart Lewis-Evans was another promising British talent of the late 1950s who tragically lost his life to the sport. A stylish and fast driver, Lewis-Evans competed in 14 World Championship Grands Prix, achieving 2 pole positions and 2 podium finishes. He raced primarily for the Vanwall team, contributing to their Constructors' Championship victory in 1958. His burgeoning career was cut short at the 1958 Moroccan Grand Prix when his engine seized, leading to a fiery crash from which he later succumbed to his injuries.
