Lancia
Lancia's Formula 1 foray was brief but significant, entering the sport in 1954 with their innovative D50. Designed by Vittorio Jano, the car featured distinctive pannier fuel tanks for improved weight distribution, and showed immediate promise. Despite demonstrating competitive pace and securing 1 podiums in just 11 starts, financial difficulties led to their withdrawal after the 1955 season. Enzo Ferrari notably acquired the D50 designs and assets, which formed the basis of Ferrari's championship-winning car in 1956, cementing Lancia's indirect but crucial contribution to F1 history.
