Eugenio Castellotti

Eugenio Castellotti was a dashing and naturally gifted Italian driver, often seen as a potential future World Champion. His aggressive yet smooth style earned him comparisons to Alberto Ascari, particularly in sports car racing where he achieved significant success for Ferrari and Maserati. Though his Formula 1 career was brief, encompassing just 17 starts, he secured 3 podiums and 3 pole positions, showcasing immense raw talent. Tragically, his promising career was cut short in a testing accident at Modena in March 1957.
