Onofre Marimón
Onofre Marimón, an Argentine contemporary of Juan Manuel Fangio, competed in 12 World Championship Grands Prix. Known for his aggressive driving style, he was a formidable talent who often pushed his machinery to the limit. His career was tragically cut short in 1954 during practice for the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, making him the first driver to die during a World Championship event. Despite his brief time in Formula 1, Marimón's raw speed and daring approach left a lasting impression.
