ERA
English Racing Automobiles (ERA) was a pioneering British constructor active from 1933, primarily in voiturette racing, a precursor to Formula 1. Founded by Humphrey Cook, Raymond Mays, and Peter Berthon, ERA quickly established itself as a dominant force in pre-war European racing with its supercharged ERA A-Type and B-Type cars. Though they competed in 13 World Championship races after its 1950 inception, their greatest successes came before the official championship began, making them a significant, albeit early, chapter in British motorsport history.
