Bob Gerard was a British driver who entered Formula 1 as a privateer, racing an ERA in the first two championship seasons and Cooper cars from 1953 to 1957. He took part in 7 Grands Prix and his best result was sixth place at the 1950 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, in the first ever World Championship race. Gerard never scored a championship point but was one of the main British privateers of his era.
