Johnny Dumfries

Johnny Dumfries, the Scottish aristocrat and heir to the Marquess of Bute title, had a brief but intriguing Formula 1 career. After a successful junior formula ascent, including winning the 1984 British Formula 3 Championship, he debuted in 1986 with Lotus, famously partnering Ayrton Senna. Despite the challenge of being a second driver to a prodigious talent, Dumfries showed flashes of pace, notably finishing fifth at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
