Rudi Fischer

Willi Fischer was a Swiss privateer who made a solitary Formula 1 World Championship start at his home Grand Prix in 1952. Driving an HWM 52, he qualified 19th for the Swiss Grand Prix at Bremgarten, a notoriously fast and dangerous circuit. Unfortunately, his race was short-lived as he retired on the third lap due to a mechanical issue. Fischer's brief appearance marks him as one of the many independent drivers who attempted to compete in the early years of the championship.
