Chico Landi

Chico Landi was a charismatic and popular figure, the first Brazilian driver to compete in a Formula 1 World Championship race. His debut came at the 1951 Italian Grand Prix, driving a Ferrari. While he never raced a full season, Landi participated in a handful of Grand Prix events into the mid-1950s, often as a privateer. His best result was a fourth-place finish at the 1956 Argentine Grand Prix, showcasing his talent against established stars. Landi's pioneering efforts helped pave the way for future generations of successful Brazilian drivers.
