Jim Rathmann
Jim Rathmann was an American racing driver best known for his victory in the 1960 Indianapolis 500, a race he competed in 14 times. A consistent front-runner at the Brickyard, he finished second three times before his win. While his Formula 1 career was limited to the Indianapolis 500, which counted towards the F1 World Championship from 1950-1960, Rathmann was a prominent figure in American open-wheel racing. He competed in 12 Grand Prix races, securing 1 win and 4 podium finishes. His fierce rivalry with Rodger Ward at Indy is etched into motorsport lore.
