Ken Wharton
Ken Wharton was a versatile British driver who competed in a wide array of motorsports, from hillclimbs to sports cars, before entering Formula 1. Known for his robust driving style and mechanical sympathy, he often campaigned privateer machinery, making his presence felt despite limited resources. Wharton competed in 16 World Championship Grands Prix, achieving a best finish of sixth place on multiple occasions. His career tragically ended in a sports car race accident at Ardmore, New Zealand, in 1957.
