Johnnie Parsons was an American driver who won the 1950 Indianapolis 500, the first Formula 1 World Championship season in which the race counted towards the title. The win, in a rain-shortened race, made him the first winner of the Indianapolis 500 as a championship round. He entered the race in 8 editions between 1950 and 1958 with Kurtis Kraft cars, and he finished the 1950 season sixth in the championship. Parsons remained a regular at Indianapolis for most of the decade.
