Raymond Sommer

Eitel Cantoni, more famously known as "Sommer," was an Argentine racing driver who competed in a single Formula 1 World Championship race. His sole appearance came at the 1952 Argentine Grand Prix, driving a Maserati. He retired from the race after 60 laps due to a lack of oil pressure. Sommer's brief F1 career is a testament to the era when many local drivers had the opportunity to compete in their home Grand Prix. He is one of the many lesser-known figures who contributed to the early history of Formula 1.
