Merzario
Arturo Merzario’s eponymous constructor emerged in 1978, born from his frustration with the limitations of privateer machinery. Utilising a modified March chassis, the team competed in 32 Grands Prix, primarily attempting to qualify for races. Despite the ambition, the Merzario team never scored points and struggled with funding and reliability throughout its brief tenure. Its story is a testament to the passion and often challenging realities of independent entries in Formula 1 during that era.
