Karl Kling was a German driver who raced for the Mercedes works team in Formula 1 in 1954 and 1955, following their return to Grand Prix racing. He took second place at the 1954 French Grand Prix, a Mercedes one-two with Juan Manuel Fangio on the team's debut, and finished fifth in that year's championship. He entered 11 Grands Prix and took 2 podiums. Kling had also won the 1952 Carrera Panamericana with Mercedes, and later became the company's racing manager.
