Wolfgang von Trips
Wolfgang Alexander Albert Eduard Maximilian Reichsgraf Berghe von Trips, known simply as "Taffy," was a charismatic and popular figure in the early 1960s Formula 1 scene. A talented sportsman from a noble German family, he embodied the gentleman racer ideal while pushing the limits on track. Driving primarily for Ferrari, von Trips was tragically killed at Monza in 1961 while leading the Drivers' Championship, a mere point ahead of his teammate Phil Hill, ultimately finishing second in the standings. His promising career included 28 starts, 2 wins, and 6 podiums.
