Rouen-Les-Essarts (Circuit)
Rouen-Les-Essarts, a picturesque yet challenging circuit in northern France, hosted Formula 1 Grand Prix races from 1952 to 1968. Renowned for its rapid downhill section and tight hairpin, Nouveau Monde, the track demanded immense bravery and skill. While only hosting 5 World Championship events, its flowing layout through wooded areas and public roads made it a quintessential example of the classic, dangerous European road course, deeply embedded in motorsport folklore despite its brief F1 tenure. The circuit's narrow, undulating character often led to dramatic racing and unforgiving consequences for errors.
