HWM
HWM, or H.W. Motors, was a British racing team and constructor that uniquely straddled the pre- and post-war racing eras. Founded by George Abecassis and John Heath, HWM initially found success in Formula 2 before transitioning to Formula 1. Their cars, often powered by Alta engines, were known for their privateer spirit and participation in early 1950s Grand Prix racing, albeit without achieving significant championship results. Despite competing in 47 races, HWM never secured a win or podium finish, but they remain a notable, if minor, footnote in Formula 1's formative years.
