Piers Courage was a British driver and a member of the Courage brewing family. He started his Formula 1 career with BRM in 1967 and finished second at both the 1969 Monaco and United States Grands Prix driving a Brabham-Ford for Frank Williams's team, which earned him eighth in the championship. He moved to De Tomaso for 1970 and was killed in a crash at the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. He had entered 27 Grands Prix.
