Jarama (Circuit)

The Circuito Permanente del Jarama, located north of Madrid, was a staple of the Formula 1 calendar for over a decade. Its tight, twisty layout, designed by John Hugenholtz, was characterized by a challenging series of slow corners and a relatively short main straight, demanding precise car setup and driver skill. Jarama hosted 9 Spanish Grands Prix between 1968 and 1981, often seeing close racing and memorable battles. The circuit's narrow confines and challenging nature meant overtaking was difficult, often leading to strategic races decided by pit stops or clever out-laps.
