Prince Bira
Prince Bira of Siam was an exotic and highly respected figure in early Grand Prix racing, known for his distinctive light blue Maserati and his aristocratic bearing. The first and only Thai driver in Formula 1 history, he competed in 19 World Championship Grands Prix, often driving his own 'White Mouse' team entries. While he never achieved a podium finish in the World Championship era, Bira was a successful pre-war racer, securing victories in prestigious non-championship events. His participation brought a unique, cosmopolitan flair to the nascent sport.
