Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet (Circuit)
The Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet, formerly known as Jacarepaguá, was a purpose-built circuit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It hosted the Brazilian Grand Prix 10 times between 1978 and 1989. Known for its long main straight and a mix of slow and medium-speed corners, it was a challenging track that often produced exciting races, particularly in the turbo era. Its flat, low-altitude layout contrasted sharply with the later, more undulating Interlagos, offering a different kind of technical challenge for drivers and engineers.
