Innes Ireland

Innes Ireland was a charismatic Scottish racing driver known for his flamboyant style both on and off the track. He was a key figure in the early years of the Lotus Formula 1 team, delivering their first Grand Prix victory at the 1961 United States Grand Prix. Ireland competed in 55 Grands Prix, securing 1 win and 4 podium finishes, often pushing his machinery to (and sometimes beyond) its limits. His career was marked by both flashes of brilliance and occasional misfortune, but he remained a beloved character in the paddock.
