ATS
ATS, a German Formula 1 constructor, competed intermittently from 1977 to 1984. Founded by Günther Schmidt, the owner of a wheel manufacturer, the team often struggled with funding and reliability. Despite employing notable designers like Gustav Brunner and drivers such as Jochen Mass and Jean-Pierre Jarier, ATS never achieved a podium finish. Their best result was a fifth place at the 1977 German Grand Prix. The team participated in 162 races before ultimately withdrawing due to financial difficulties.
