Marc Surer was a Swiss driver who contested Formula 1 between 1979 and 1986, racing for Ensign, ATS, Theodore, Arrows and Brabham. He was a strong qualifier and finished fourth at the 1981 Brazilian Grand Prix, his best result. His career, which covered 82 Grand Prix entries, was ended by a serious rally accident in 1986. He later became a respected television commentator for German-language broadcasters.
