Hockenheimring

The Hockenheimring, a circuit with a rich history, hosted Formula 1 from 1970 to 2019. Originally a vast, high-speed track winding through the forests, its dramatic 2002 redesign by Hermann Tilke shortened it significantly, replacing the iconic forest straights with a tighter, more conventional stadium section. This transformation aimed to improve racing and safety, though it altered the circuit's fundamental character. Hockenheim remains notable for its passionate German fanbase and the challenges it presents with a mix of fast corners and heavy braking zones.
