Philippe Streiff
Philippe Streiff was a French racing driver whose F1 career, though brief, showcased considerable promise. After a successful tenure in Formula 2, including a victory at the 1984 Macau Grand Prix, he made his F1 debut with Renault. Streiff competed for Ligier and Tyrrell, often impressing with his raw speed and aggressive driving style, and achieved one podium finish in the 1985 Australian Grand Prix. His career was tragically cut short by a testing accident in Brazil in 1989, which left him a quadriplegic. Despite his injuries, Streiff remained a respected figure in motorsport, advocating for disability awareness and continuing to attend races. He competed in 54 Grand Prix, with 1 podiums.
