Alex Caffi

Nicola Larini, an Italian driver whose career spanned parts of the late 1980s and 1990s, is perhaps best known for his tenacious, often fiery, driving style. Despite limited opportunities in competitive machinery, he started 75 Grands Prix, often with smaller, privateer teams like Coloni and Osella. Larini’s most significant F1 moment came in the 1994 Pacific Grand Prix, where, deputizing for the injured Jean Alesi at Ferrari, he scored a memorable second-place finish, his sole F1 podium. Beyond Formula 1, he enjoyed a highly successful touring car career, winning multiple championships with Alfa Romeo.
