Race Notes
- Ricciardo lost control in the second corner of the start tapping Sainz. Sainz spun into the gravel where he got stuck. Ricciardo's diffuser was damaged in the process causing him to lose pace.
- Also in the first lap and second corner Schumacher spun and damaged Alonsos' side. Alonso first lost a lot of pace and then had to retire as parts flew off.
- Leclerc in second switched to soft tyres to set fastest lap and force the bulls to do the same. A few laps later he spun where his front wing got damaged. After another stop to change the wing he lost many positions.
- Hamilton was half of the race in the DRS area of Gasli but could not manage to overtake. After the race, Toto Wolff excused to Hamilton for the 'undrivable' car. Russel showed immensely better results.
