Pierluigi Martini

Not to be confused with the illustrious Italian vermouth brand, Pierluigi Martini was a tenacious and often spectacular driver from Italy, best known for his long association with the Minardi team. He competed in 123 Grands Prix, often punching above the weight of his machinery and delivering memorable qualifying performances. While he never achieved a podium finish, his spirited drives and consistent efforts, particularly at his home Grand Prix, endeared him to fans and cemented his place as a cult hero for the underdog Minardi outfit.
