Lola
While primarily renowned for its success in other motorsport categories, Lola's brief and ill-fated foray into Formula 1 as a constructor is a notable footnote in the sport's history. After supplying chassis to various privateer teams in the 1960s and 70s, Lola's most significant direct F1 attempt came in 1997 with the Mastercard Lola team. Plagued by underfunding and a rushed development, the cars proved uncompetitive, failing to qualify for the opening race in Australia and leading to the team's immediate withdrawal. Despite a long and storied history in racing, Lola's direct impact on F1's top tier as a constructor was unfortunately minimal.
