Jonathan Palmer is a British driver who raced in Formula 1 between 1983 and 1989, after winning the 1983 European Formula 2 title. He drove for Williams, RAM, Zakspeed and Tyrrell, entering 84 Grands Prix, and his best result was fourth place at the 1987 Australian Grand Prix. In 1987 he also won the Jim Clark Cup for naturally aspirated cars with Tyrrell. A qualified doctor, he later became a racing circuit owner and the founder of Palmer Sport, and is the father of Jolyon Palmer, who also raced in Formula 1.
